Atlanta – The third annual JEC Americas Composites Show, co-located with Techtextil North America and Texprocess Americas shows attracted 759 exhibiting companies and over 9,000 professional visits.

JEC Americas conferences included various topics such as: advancements in composites matrices, new reinforcements, aeronautics, automotive and mass production. With a new format including a poster display and networking breaks during the sessions, the conferences in Atlanta were a success.
JEC’s third Automotive Composites Circle took place in Atlanta. This Leadership Program featured a keynote from Luciano De Oto and Marco De Luca of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. about a new European Union-funded project for the development of cost-effective and sustainable polyethylene-based carbon fibers.
JEC’s strong support and promotion of industry innovation were on display during the JEC Americas Innovation Awards ceremony. Ten companies and their partners were recognized for their advancements in ten competitive categories spanning the entire composites value chain, from raw materials to finished products.

OakRidge National Laboratory


The Oak Ridge National Laboratory displayed a carbon 3D printing live demo. It manufactured a model of car chassis in carbon.


The University of Alabama at Birmingham


The UAB displayed an electro spinning station which can show spinning of nano-fibers from different solutions.

Many visitors at the Atlanta event were invited to take an exclusive tour of Marietta NDT’s 95,000 ft2 design and manufacturing space for customized non-destructive testing systems in Atlanta.
The Business Meetings program, a service of prearranged meetings between Buyers and exhibitors, was at full capacity as more than 120 meetings have been organized.
